Why should I book through Costco Travel? Everything you need to know about booking through Costco Travel, and why it could save you some serious money!
This was not our first time booking through Costco Travel, so we had some prior knowledge before we planned our trip to Hawaii. Most people know and love Costco for their bulk items, and great samples. However, what a lot of people don’t know is that you can also book travel with them as well – and save some money (which who doesn’t love that).
Step 1: Choose your adventure
Go to this link and you can select the destination you want, and it will then show you the vacation packages they offer. Whether that’s booking just the hotel through Costco, hotel + flights or hotel + car rental or all of the above! Once you select all of that information including where you are departing from, the dates, etc. it will then generate a list of hotels.
Step 2: Choose your hotel
The fun part! Costco gives you a list of hotels to choose from, giving you the option to decided what you really want for your vacation. If you are trying to save money, you can choose a cheaper option, if you want to splurge, they have some top of the line options as well! Choosing a hotel can be difficult, so keep in mind some of the non negotiables that you are looking for. Exp. (location, pool, kid-friendly, breakfast included, etc.)

Under “Included Extras” you can see some of the bonuses each hotel offers, I would definitely take these into consideration! The hotel we booked, included a $150 resort credit for our stay (used this for drinks at the pool bar!), and a $161 Costco gift card for when we came back from our trip (groceries for free = a win!).
Some of the perks I’ve seen hotels include are a waived daily mandatory resort fee (which most hotels in Hawaii all have and they can range from $25-50/day), complimentary valet parking, and even free breakfast!
Pro tip: Read the Costco Member reviews on the hotels as well!
Step 3: Choose your flights
They truly make it so easy! We were able to choose our flights with Delta on a nonstop flight and it was great. We got in at a good time, and was happy as to how easy it was to just select which flight best works for us. This is another reason why it’s so nice to book through Costco (especially if you are flying internationally, as I know it can get kind of confusing booking all that on your own).
Step 4: Review your Hotel
If everything looks good – feel free to continue! Otherwise, if you want to modify your room (upgrade OR downgrade) you can do that here. We actually ended up downgrading our room to a Partial Ocean View vs. a Full Ocean View and were able to save a little bit of money there and our view still ended up being great.
Step 5: Transportation
Another great thing about Costco Travel is that transportation to and from the airport is included! This makes it so convenient after a long flight, and we were even greeted with a lei (which some people pay upwards of $100 for). We have not booked a rental car through Costco, but you have the option to do that as well.
