When I tell you that transforming our small apartment patio has been life-changing, it really has! Okay life-changing might be a little dramatic, but it has been so nice to have an additional space in our apartment that is not only cute, but also very functional! Once we decided we wanted to transform our patio, we also knew we didn’t want to spend a TON.
So here is everything we decided to get and our before and after!
the before..
the after..
Flooring
This is definitely optional, but made a HUGE difference (as you can see). We got these tiles from Ikea, they can run a little pricy (they were on sale for $32/set when I got them) and we had to get 2 sets of them.
If that’s out of budget, an outdoor rug is also a great option! This neutral one from amazon comes in a variety of sizes dependent on how big your outdoor space is.
Chairs + Table Set
Chairs are a key part of your outside space and really depends on what you are going for. I wanted something comfy, not too expensive and obviously cute. This set from amazon was everything I wanted and more – and had a table included! I also looked at this one, because the seats can rock but it was too big for my space but can still be a good option. For a more luxe option, this one also looks great!
Lighting
Some good lighting can really elevate your outdoor space, and make it feel so cozy at night! These lights are the ones I got and under $20. The other lights we got are similar to these LED candles (wish ours came with a remote and these do). Which we paired with these candle holders that we actually are reusing from our wedding!
Plants
I am definitely not the best when it comes to keeping plants alive, but I feel like its a must to have at least one on your patio! I had an old snake plant that I ended up putting outside, and then just went to my local Home Depot to get a a plant for my hanging plant holder and some flowers for the ground as well.
The last couple things we are thinking of getting is this mini fire pit (so cute and hello s’mores!) and a tarp to put over for the days when it rains/winter time. But that’s pretty much it!
